Doburoku Festival

Every year from October 14 to 19, the Doburoku Festival is held in Shirakawa-go to pray to the mountain gods for a good harvest, safety in the home, and peace in the village, by making and offering “Doburoku (home-brewed sake)”. The joy and excitement of the festival, where rituals are performed at shrines in each district and Doburoku is served as sacred sake, has been passed down from generation to generation.
