The Biodiversity & Habitat Index shows the overall score (out of 100) of each country. The scores take into account several key data points, such as the ‘Terrestrial Biome Protection’, ‘ Marine Protected Areas’, ‘Protected Area Representativeness’, ‘Species Habitat & Protection’ and ‘ Biodiversity’.

The rainfall index is an index measured in millimeters and developed by FAO which reflects how much precipitation is received relative to the long-term average for a specified area and timeframe.

The Climate Change issue category measures progress to combat global climate change, which exacerbates all other environmental threats and imperils human health and safety. It is composed of eight indicators: adjusted emission growth rates for four greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, F-gases, and N2O) and one climate pollutant (black carbon); growth rate in CO2 emissions from land cover; greenhouse gas intensity growth rate; and greenhouse gas emissions per capita.

The freedom of press index is an annual ranking of countries compiled and published by Reporters Without Borders and shows the degree of freedom available to journalists in 180 countries and regions around the world. Countries with a high value has less freedom of press

The Price Level Index is simply price relatives that show the ratio of the prices in national currencies of the same good or service in different countries (using United States $1 as the baseline).
The Public Transport Cost Index shows the regular price of a monthly pass in each country.

Tree cover loss is measured as a proportion: the average annual loss in forest area over the past five years, divided by the total extent of forest area in the year 2000. A score of 100 indicates virtually no tree cover loss, and a score of 0 indicates the worst levels of loss.
