Got Ramogi Forest heritage site – Siaya
The Got Ramogi Forest is a forest that is home to many species of animals and plants. It is also very important for the culture of the Luo people. There are several shrines in the forest, which are still points of attraction today. Despite its cultural importance, the community is struggling with modernisation and globalisation, and there is a danger that the culture will die out. That is why they try to keep the culture alive. This is done, for example, by organising events to highlight the culture, meeting other tribes and organising traditional competitions. Through these activities, they try to pass on the culture to the current generation and form cultural groups that support each other.

Try Local Food and Products
Brazilian cuisine is highly underrated! While Mexican food conquered the world (for good reasons!), most people are not familiar with Brazilian dishes and never had the chance to try.
So, if you are in Brazil, take this opportunity to explore the immense variety of local fruits, legumes and vegetables, many only found in South America! The cuisine changes drastically from region to region in Brazil, but some ingredients are loved and used daily by all Brazilians, such as rice, beans and mandioca (cassava).
Also, if you have a sweet tooth, our desserts will definitely not disappoint!

Getting around
Depending on the location of the places you wish to visit, it is often more convenient to fly, after all Brazil is huge! All capital cities and major destinations are served with national (and sometimes international) airports. Renting a car or travelling by bus, nevertheless, are also very good options for a more slow-paced travel. Buses are affordable and comfortable, but renting your own vehicle is more suitable for reaching more secluded places and for having more freedom to enjoy the landscapes and cities. Travelling by train is not an option, as railways are used only for the transportation of goods. There are, however, a few exceptions of scenic train routes for tourists, such as the one in Rio Negrinho, one of our featured sustainable destinations.

While renowned destinations like Maasai Mara and coastal areas may witness high tourist traffic, especially during peak seasons and holidays, Kenya’s vast size offers an array of alternative, less crowded spots to explore.
Kenyans are known for their warmth and friendliness towards foreign visitors, and engaging with the local culture can be a truly enriching experience.

Kenya’s natural landscapes are a captivating tapestry of diverse ecosystems, from the savannahs of the Maasai Mara to the shores of Lake Nakuru. These environments are home to a remarkable array of wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, and buffalos.
The country’s numerous national parks and reserves, like Tsavo, Amboseli, and Samburu, provide essential habitats for these iconic species and countless others.
