Sustainability
Sweden is one of the most sustainable countries in the world. The country has gained this recognition after numerous years of working towards a more green future. It leads in renewable energy, with nearly 60% of its electricity generated from renewables, primarily wind and hydroelectric power. Sweden’s extensive forests are carefully managed, with over 74% of them certified as sustainably managed, ensuring both economic and ecological benefits. The nation has invested heavily in a comprehensive public transportation system, and its capital, Stockholm, has expanded its efficient bike-sharing program.
The country’s extensive network of trains connects major cities like Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, offering efficient and comfortable travel. Buses complement the train system, reaching smaller towns and rural areas. In urban areas, public transportation, including trams, buses, and subways, is reliable for city exploration.

“Brazil is a worldwide known hotspot for biodiversity as well as home to a multitude of cultural expressions. The natural and cultural heritage and immense variety of tourism experiences in the country are valuable assets for its competitiveness. Yet, as we envision a post Covid-19 era, sustainability in tourism becomes crucial to build resilience and guarantee the long-lasting health of Brazil’s ecosystems and well-being of the hosting communities. This would also ensure an active contribution of the country’s tourism sector to the Sustainable Development Goals.”
