Why visit East Coast National Scenic Area?
The East Coast NSA is located between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean in the east of Taiwan. It boasts an endless Pacific coastline, intertidal zone ecology, diverse water recreation activities, and cultural experiences rooted in prehistoric and Austronesian heritage. It is famous for it’s coastal geological landscape, indigenous living cultures and gourmet food. Tourists enjoy the downshifting life style, experiencing traditional craft activities. Held from June to September, the annual Moonlight Sea Concert has become an iconic event that defines Taiwan’s East Coast.
Sustainability
The concept of “The more local, the more global” shapes a unique vacation lifestyle through its local character: the different travel itineraries and experiences are based on the local DNA which at the same time continuously innovate tourism products to showcase the brand value of the East Coast’s Sea-style.
In response to global changes in the tourism industry, the destination aims to strengthen tourism resilience, raise environmental awareness, and actively invest in the foundational aspects of East Coast tourism by taking into account social, environmental, and service infrastructure to ensure sustainable development.
