Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole

Perpignan Méditerranée: a region between land, sea and mountains.

Why visit Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole?

A veritable mosaic of multifaceted landscapes, between the blue of the Mediterranean, a heritage city dubbed the “Centre of the World” by Dali, and the valley and foothills of the Pyrenees, Perpignan Méditerranée is a naturally and culturally rich tourist destination. At the heart of a triangle formed by the cities of Toulouse, Montpellier and Barcelona, between France and Spain, this region comprising 37 municipalities (670 km², including 22 km of coastline) is a veritable oasis of biodiversity, with an authentic soul steeped in tradition and history. A veritable “open-air playground” to be enjoyed to the full by exploring the many gentle hiking trails that offer unique natural panoramas.

Sustainability

In parallel with its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which aims to reconcile harmonious, thoughtful and balanced economic development with environmental preservation and social well-being, the agency also pursues a policy of continuous improvement to raise awareness of sustainable development issues among holidaymakers, tourism stakeholders and local residents alike. Committed to tourism, the agency has been involved in the Green Passport initiative since 2020, as part of the strategy of its former Tourist Office, and is a member of the ATD (Acteurs du Tourisme Durable) association, a network of professionals committed to the transition of tourism. Cap Sud 66 has also won three calls for expressions of interest launched by the CRTL Occitanie: the Tourist and Mobility Office, the Green Destinations label and the Cycling Hub. These programmes, which demonstrate a commitment to sustainable tourism, support the awareness-raising actions already in place and also reinforce the long-standing sustainable commitment of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole.

Sustainability Recognitions
