Sustainability

The region has many strong identity markers and attractive features, constituting a “way of life” that is typified by the Pays d’Armagnac: “good living”, “slow living” and conviviality, “the good life” (and therefore longevity), fine food and agriculture, landscapes, historical and architectural heritage, and a rich cultural life and festivities.

The Pays d’Armagnac region is actively involved in developing wine tourism and itinerant tourism, as well as networking and coordinating tourism and wine industry stakeholders.

Tourist offices, wine producers and the Pays d’Armagnac work closely together to upgrade, qualify and market the tourist offer, as well as to carry out structural and innovative projects dedicated to promoting the region.

The Pays d’Armagnac has a wealth of diverse heritage assets: natural sites (Natura 2000, forest), old buildings (bastides, edifices), varied landscapes, Gascon culture and gastronomy.

These elements must be preserved as they forge the identity of the region. Leisure activities (motor racing circuit, rail bike, swimming spots, etc.), outdoor activities (Chemins de Saint-Jacques), cultural and heritage activities (Grand Site Occitanie, archaeological centre, d’Artagnan character, etc.) and festivities (Tempo Latino, Bandas festival) make it the leading tourist destination in the Gers.
