Protecting biodiversity is a key priority. Cap d’Agde Méditerranée safeguards exceptional natural areas, including the Bagnas Nature Reserve, the Grande Maïre wetlands, and the Agathois Coast Marine Protected Area. The destination also manages nine Natura 2000 sites, nearly 1,000 hectares of protected coastal land, 700 km of waterways, and extensive wetlands, while working to preserve water quality, protect aquatic ecosystems, reduce diffuse pollution, and promote sustainable agriculture.
